Development Associate
Water Missions International (WMI) is a Christian
ministry. Our mission is to provide access to safe
water and an opportunity to hear the good news of
eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. The incumbent
must feel a clear calling from God and a heartfelt
passion for our mission. The person must be engaged
in an active relationship with the Lord.
Because our mission is global, urgent, and enormous,
the person in this position must have the temperament
and energy to be a leader in an entrepreneurial environment.
Under the direction of the VP of Development, the
Development Associate is responsible for supporting
the overall development activities of WMI and achieving
the funding required to support budgeted expense plans
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Assist Development staff creating project proposals
for prospective donors; prepare written material
and presentation media ensuring accurate and effective
representation of proposals.
Design and analyze strategies to be utilized
in the solicitation of funds from individuals,
corporations and foundations.
Represent WMI before a variety of individuals
and groups providing information concerning philanthropic
opportunities.
Identify, research and prioritize potential
prospects.
Follow up properly with strategic partners and
donors who will provide entry to needy countries,
in-kind resources, and/or financial resources.
Compile and communicate progress reports for
projects with donor-designated funding.
Serve as main liaison for special event volunteer
committees.
Coordinate annual fund and promote recurring
giving campaigns.

Education and experience:
Work requires communications, analytical and
organizational skills generally acquired through
completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Work requires two years experience in public
relations, development, sales and promotions,
marketing, or a related field in order to acquire
skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or
participate in general philanthropic activities
and proposal development.
