In 2006, Water Missions International (WMI) focused on the needs of victims of the "silent tsunami"
- the 1.1 billion people who lack access to safe drinking water every day. We are grateful to the
Lord for opening doors in countries like Sri Lanka and Indonesia as a result of our response to the
devastating Asian Tsunami of December 2004, when 108 Living WaterT Treatment Systems (LWTST)
were deployed to the region. Many of these systems were redeployed last year as part of community
development projects where ongoing needs for safe water and the "Living Water" message of Jesus
Christ can be met.
The steady growth and success of our Country Programs in Honduras, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and
Uganda, along with new water projects in other developing countries like Kenya, Haiti, and Peru, have
led to significant growth in the number of communities around the world that are requesting and
receiving assistance from WMI. Additionally, Project SafeWater-Colon, the exciting new initiative in
Colon, Honduras, is receiving strong attention and support from a broad spectrum of foundations,
corporations, other aid organizations, and governments, including the government of Honduras.
WMI has expanded its staff to meet these growing project needs in response to what we believe is the
Lord's direction for this ministry.
As you read this Annual Report, it is our hope that you rejoice with us in seeing examples of how
your efforts and funds have been used to improve the lives of many people around the world, both
physically and spiritually. We recognize
that our ability to provide for the needs
of so many is only possible due to the
continued support of your time, talent
and treasure to the ministry of Water
Missions International. It is our sincere
prayer that "He who supplies seed to
the sower and bread for food will also
supply and increase your store of seed
and will enlarge the harvest of your
righteousness." (2 Corinthians 9:10, NIV)
