Prayers were answered today as the Water Missions International shipment of trucks, motorcycles and water treatment equipment left Ft. Pierce, Florida this morning destined for Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Concerns were raised yesterday when WMI was informed that the equipment might not fit onto the barge as it was anticipated to reach capacity before the WMI equipment could be loaded. Thanks to your prayers and the hard work of WMI coordinators, all the equipment was loaded onto the barge and is expected to reach Haiti later this week. The rugged vehicles will help our Haiti relief team to reach areas that are still cutoff by damaged roads and rough terrain.
Good news continues to flow from Haiti. Today, two more water treatment systems were installed to provide safe, clean water for the earthquake victims in Port-au-Prince. The systems were set up in the communities of Delmas and Leogane, both located in the outskirts of Port-au-Prince. Thousands more Haitians now have access to this life-saving resource, some for the first time in their lives. Through our continuous relief efforts in Haiti, it is our hope that the Lord’s love and compassion be demonstrated above all else.
There is still much work to be done. Please consider joining us in this ongoing effort to help the hurting people of Haiti. Thank you to all of you who have already given so much of your time, talent and treasure!
