WMI Tower Still Standing After Quake

At Water Missions International we take great pride in what we do. Yes, we are an engineering company; but truthfully we strive to be much more. Access to clean water has been provided to 40 countries worldwide thanks to WMI. It’s not enough simply to get the job done; it must be done right..

A great example of our commitment to quality construction can be found over in Haiti. You see, we have been working in Haiti for the last several years, long before the recent devastating earthquakes rocked the country. It was nearly one year ago that a WMI volunteer, Scott Horton, undertook a project to build a water tower in Haiti. With meticulous and careful planning, this tower was soundly constructed and provided the nearby communities with access to clean water.

Just a few weeks ago a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck fear into the lives of the Haitian people. While the quake lasted less than one minute, its effects will no doubt live on for a lifetime. Amidst all of the devastation surrounding the capital of Port-au-Prince stands a beacon of hope. Surrounded by a flattened church and crumbled school stands the water tower built by WMI less than a year ago.

That water tower still stands in Haiti today as the country struggles to put the pieces back together. WMI is shipping out water treatment systems by the day, but in our minds that is not quick enough. In times of such desperation we must do everything humanly possible to help those in need. Please continue to pray and support those struggling for salvation in Haiti and around the world. You really can make a difference.
