Next week, a select group of Water Missions International foreign directors, staff and volunteers from around the world will travel to Charleston for a week-long organizational workshop. These 30 leaders represent 10 countries, including Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Mexico, Peru, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda. For some of them, it will be their first trip to the United States.
The WMI leaders attending the workshop are challenged every day in the countries where they reside to deal with the effects of the global water crisis. They are the ones who see the need for safe water first-hand. They witness the sickness, missed opportunities and poverty that the lack of safe water causes. Their sacrifices for the Lord and WMI have been great. However, these are also the men and women who have the honor of delivering the solution to this global problem. These leaders are the ones who do all the work in the field, including installing the water systems and responding after disasters. They see how safe water instantly changes lives for the better.
During the week-long workshop, which begins next Wednesday, the leaders will discuss success stories and operations from the field and use them to create and implement new, more efficient plans to help provide safe drinking water to needy people in the upcoming year. It is an incredibly significant event for WMI and a more important event for the people we serve.
We are honored to host our world-wide leaders in Charleston next week. Please join us in praying for them as they travel to the United States.
