The Water for Life

Walk for Water

WMI Founders George and Molly Greene led the 3.5 mile Walk for Water
to raise awareness of the global water crisis.

This is the first year WMI has hosted the Walk for Water. Over 300 people participated and more than $11,000 were raised for the organization.

Participants had the option to carry 2-gallon water buckets that they could
fill with dirty water at the half-way point of the walk.

Signs bearing the gruesome statistics of the ongoing global water crisis
were strategically placed throughout the duration of the walk to remind
people what they were walking for.

who joined the afternoon's activities in the park.

The GEL Team from GEL Engineering was given the Team Spirit Award.
The team had over 80 walkers participate.

WMI Founder Molly Greene attempted to carry her waterbucket on her head just as most women and children do worldwide each day. 1 gallon of water weighs approximately 8 lbs.

Participants could fill their buckets with dirty water from Colonial Lake
at the half-way point of the walk.

The first annual Water for Life Walk was sponsored by Glasspro.
