- Love for God and our Neighbor (Mark 12:29-31, 1 Cor 13)
- Faithfulness to seek and obey God’s will (Matt 7:7,8)
- Compassion for those in need (2 Cor 9:12,13)
- Excellence in our Work (Col 3:23,24)
- Responsible Stewardship of donor time, talent, and treasure (1 Peter 4:10, Matt 25:21)
- Integrity in all our relationships and activities (2 Cor 1:12, Ps 41:12)
- Trust in God’s sovereignty over all we do (Prov 3:5,6)
- “Can Do” Attitude in all circumstances (Titus 3:14, Phil 4:13, Matt 25:35b)
Our work is based on the belief that God cares about the physical and spiritual well-being of all people and He has a desire for a personal relationship with each of us.
As Christians, we are called to respond to three imperatives, given to us in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. The three imperatives are:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:28-30.
Love your neighbor as yourself. Mark 12:31.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:18-20.
Our response to these imperatives
The first two imperatives tell us that we are to be concerned about the physical well-being of all people – regardless of creed, color or faith. Water Missions International seeks to love God and our neighbors in need by providing access to safe water and sanitation solutions.
For the third imperative, we believe that we are directed to conduct ourselves in a manner that causes others to notice something pleasantly different about us. When God presents an opportunity, we share what we believe to be the following truths with others:
We believe in an eternal transcendent God who created all people in His image.
We believe that we are alienated from our Creator by our sin.
We believe that we are reconciled to our Creator through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We only share these truths in a sensitive, respectful way – as God has called us to do: Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear. 1 Peter 3:15.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, containing everything we need to know for salvation. When we speak of the Bible, we refer to the Old and New Testaments whose authority we accept without doubt. II Timothy 3:15-17.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. John 1:1-4; Philippians 2:5-11; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24.
We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ result in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Titus 3:4-7, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, Acts 4:12; Luke 24:46-47.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. Galatians 5:16-18; Romans 8:9.
We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. Revelation 20:11-15; I Corinthians 15:51-57.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12 & 27.
We believe that the ministry of evangelism is a responsibility of both the Church and each Christian. Romans 10:9-15; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:17-20; I Peter 3:15.
