Five water treatment systems were loaded onto a truck and deployed from Water Missions International around 10:30 this morning. The systems were the first of 10 scheduled to be shipped today to Haiti. The remaining five will leave Charleston at 5:00 this afternoon.
It was a touching sight this morning as water storage tanks covered with hand-written notes and prayers for the people of Haiti were loaded onto the truck. Members of Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, SC signed the wishes directly on the water storage tanks before they were packed for shipping. Now, not only will the people of Haiti gain safe drinking water from the systems, but also words of encouragement, love and prayer from those of us here in the United States.
Six days after the catastrophic quake, the people of Haiti need your help now more than ever. The situation is still critical.
