We are pleased to announce that our team from WMI has safely arrived in Haiti, including George Greene III and IV. Our team in Haiti represents several different nations, including: the United States, Honduras, Germany and Haiti. To date, our team has successfully installed nearly 30 living water treatment systems in the disaster-ridden country. An additional 10 systems are en route to Haiti as we continue to focus on meeting their need for clean water.
Please keep the Haitian people in your prayers, as well as our team working in Haiti. One of our new volunteers stationed in Haiti, Rusty Smith, recalls an encounter with a Haitian refugee just a few days ago. As the team had spent the day setting up a water tank at for an area in need, Rusty passed on lunch in order to help set up the water tank. As Rusty sat down that evening to finally grab a bite to eat, a nearby refugee came over and asked if he had any food to spare. The refugee explained to Rusty that it had been three days since his last meal. With no hesitation Rusty gave this refugee his food, saying there was no way he could consider eating in front of people in such need.
This story reminds us how dire the situation really is over in Haiti. Let us do everything we can to help lift their spirits and give them a source of hope and promise. Please continue to pray and support the ongoing effort in Haiti.
