Water Missions
International (WMI) has sent 108 Living Water Treatment Systems (LWTS)
to south Asia for tsunami relief. Each LWTS can purify 10,000 gallons
of water per day, enough for 3,000 people. All 108 systems can treat enough
water for 324,000 people.
This would not
have been possible without the support of thousands of individuals and organizations
who gave generously of their time, talent, and treasure.
It was
remarkable to see how so many people came together to help. We couldn't have
done it without our volunteers, donors, Mayor Riley, and S and cofounder Molly Greene.
Mayor Riley brought
attention to WMI's tsunami relief efforts when he held a press conference
on December 30. "We all have been devastated by the images of the lives
lost in the wake of the tsunamis in South Asia. This is an opportunity for
local residents to remember the help we have always received in times of disaster.
Water Missions International can fill the immediate and critical need for
drinking water, which is the most vital need at this point." |
