Praise God for all the ways he continues to work in the ebb and flow of this ministry. On May 18th, Flag Day was celebrated in Haiti. The Water Missions International (WMI) team composed of our Haiti Country Directors Julio and Elsa, along with several engineers, spent the day at a camp for hearing-impaired.
They partnered with Blue Ridge, a well drilling organization, to ensure the camp would have access to safe water. Together, the teams drilled a well and installed a Living Waterâ„¢ Treatment System.
Afterwards, they celebrated with the children in the camp by giving them teddy bears and Living Water Bracelets. A total of 77 children beamed with joy as they received their stuffed animal. Time was also spent teaching the children about the bracelets and what each colored bead meant. Living Water Bracelets are a simple tool to teach children about the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ; each colored bead represents a different part of the gospel message.
Safe Water now flows in the camp, ensuring that the people living there no longer have to worry about getting sick from disease-ridden water. With safe water now in their community, a small bit of comfort and relief has been brought as a ray of hope in the midst of their circumstances.
