For the past several weeks our updates have been solely focused on our efforts to bring immediate relief to the people of Haiti. With your help, we have been able to mobilize to send equipment, people, and most importantly, safe water and hope to the people of Haiti. Together, we have accomplished much and with your continued help, we will continue building into the lives of the Haiti people for years to come.
Although the focus has necessarily been on Haiti, the global efforts of Water Missions International have continued. Ten Living Water (TM) Treatment Systems and other equipment have been assembled and readied to ship to Uganda on the 23rd. In Peru, our ministry partner is assisting with flood relief using three Living Water (TM) Treatment Systems. In Bolivia, water systems used in a previous disaster response are being readied for use to bring safe water to flood victims. In Sri Lanka, systems used to bring safe water to the Internally Displaced People camps are now being installed in communities in need. Today, we received a wonderful report from a ministry in Myanmar expressing thanks for our past work there during the typhoon destruction and reported how the work in continuing today. A new team is getting ready to move to Malawi for several months to assist the work there. Even with much of our Honduras team assisting in Haiti, work continues in Honduras to bring safe water and sanitation to the people of Colon. We are blessed to have competent and dedicated staff in Malawi, Honduras, Uganda, Kenya, Mexico, Indonesia, Mexico, and Sri Lanka to continue to meet the safe water needs of people in those countries.
Please continue to pray for the nearly 884 million people who lack access to safe water. Together, we will continue to bring hope.
